В панельном доме ОСОБЕННО актуально — сигнал может затухать в 0 уже в соседней комнате.

А посоветую или дешевый ноутбук с HDMI или Acer Revo (или любой другой неттоп на NVidia ION с HDMI и приличной видеокартой). Цена вопроса — примерно 400-600$, хотя может и дешевле можно найти. Тут надо шерстить прайсы по своему городу.
